El paxarín husmiando les tonaes
Pa enfilales al prau y á les flores,

Pel arbolíu la senda ?
¡ Ay duce paxarín, yo que cuntaba
Vete na carbayera !
Está solu ' l Iloreu , no arreciende
Á bendición de ramos;
Acongóxase 'l probe porque i falten
Del paxarín el cántidos;
Ya non golverá, juese pal monte
Y d' illí fuxó ' l cielu,
Y ya non golverá, topó otru gayu
Onde afincar el ñeru.
