Report concerning User:Apokrif
[edit]Apokrif (talk • contribs • deleted contribs • logs • filter log • block user • block log • GUC • CA) — Reasons: This user has been blocked on fr-wp, and then banned by a collegial sysops decision; he keeps using socks on fr-wp and did harass some sysops or patrollers, see fr:Wikipédia:Faux-nez/Apokrif. Last positive CU check was November 6th.
Last year he modified several times Wikimedia_France/Admin_Conf_2023/Compte_rendu (sometimes in an irrelevant way) about an event organized by Wikimedia France chapter for sysops and patrollers he did not attend and where he was not invited; Supertoff and I had to cancel his edits. And I warned him: User talk:Apokrif#Stop
Now, he insists to register to an event dedicated to patrollers, where obviously he's not welcome, despite my reverts: Wikimedia France/Patrouille Conf 2024. He keeps bothering me on my talk page, with false courtesy, a lot of smileys and a lot of edits (with a notification for me every time), and insists to a point it is pure harassment: [1].
This user is not blocked on Meta-wiki or other projects and is free to edit them, but he's abusing this possibilty and uses every way to disturb fr-wp related stuff, interfer with patrol/admin stuff, and in the end waste our time (as he does on fr-wp). Best, — Jules* talk 20:14, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
- Agree with Jules*. Supertoff (talk) 21:10, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
- "an event organized by Wikimedia France chapter for sysops and patrollers he did not attend and where he was not invited": as I already explained, this is unrelated to Meta content (did you understand my explanations on differences between various wikis and Wikimedia France?).
- "did harass some sysops or patrollers": no: see also w:User_talk:Apokrif#Confusion_avec_Papa_Frank (in particular [2] and w:fr:Wikipédia:Requête_aux_administrateurs/2023/Semaine_21#usurpations_à_répétitions:_il_y_en_a_marre_! which show you're aware of misidentification).
- "false courtesy", "pure harassment", "lot of smileys": no (AFAIK smileys are not prohibited on Meta anyway).
- "sometimes in an irrelevant way": disagreements should be addressed in the talk page. Please don't undo relevant changes without explanation.
- Also, please don't edit other people's signed comments (a talk page is not a WP article any part of which can be edited by anybody).
- "he's abusing this possibilty and uses every way to disturb fr-wp related stuff, interfer with patrol/admin stuff, and in the end waste our time": no.
- "notification": perhaps w:Help:Notifications#Preferences_and_settings can help?
- Apokrif (talk) 21:31, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
For an unknown reason, Jules* and Supertoff undid several useful changes to Wikimedia France/Admin Conf 2023/Compte rendu and refused to give reasons (or gave wrong ones). Jules* even deleted the talk page section where I asked them to explain their undos! With the aforementioned edit action, Jules* also, without explanation, deleted another talk page section and broke links. Can admins look into this? Apokrif (talk) 23:30, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
- Unknown reason ? What a joke : the admin conf was for french sysops and patrollers. Apokriff is banned from french wikipedia so he is neither sysop nor patroller and has no reason to modify the text. Supertoff (talk) 06:06, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- Same mistake as Jules*, explained there. Apokrif (talk) 07:05, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- No mistake, as explain above. Last answer for myself, you harrassment won't work. Supertoff (talk) 10:38, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- I harassed no one (perhaps you mistake me for someone else, as has happened). Do you understand that editing rights on Meta do not depend on status on other wikis (the same way one doesn't need to be French to be allowed to edit a WP article about France)? Apokrif (talk) 11:07, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- You are editing WMFr event pages, specifically targeted at frwiki users, despite being banned from frwiki for nearly 3 years. Why this persistence? XXBlackburnXx (talk) 14:48, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- Like all users I guess, I contribute to pages which I have something to add to and to which I stumble upon by chance, or I followed a link to, or I looked for. I am not banned from Meta, nor from other French-speaking projects, WMFr (not to be confused with the French WP) pages are hosted on Meta, not WP, and you don't explain (a better place for this is this unexplainably almost empty talk page section) what you find irrelevant in my edits, so I don't get your point? Did you read my answer above ("Do you understand that editing rights on Meta do not depend on status on other wikis (the same way one doesn't need to be French to be allowed to edit a WP article about France")? The Admin Conf is targeted to all French language project admins and patrollers, not only French WP users (see the lead of Wikimedia France/Admin Conf 2023).
- Do you suggest we add to the page a hatnote saying it should only be edited by editors of the French Wikipedia who are not banned there? Or that it be moved to the French WP (as you think it addresses FRWP-specific topics)? Apokrif (talk) 14:59, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- Metawiki is a platform for collaborative work among communities, it's not a place where you can do your thing however you like. You continue to interfere with a page maintained by the frwiki community, a community in which you have been explicitly banned from. And when challenged, you insist and persist on having your edits saved. I see your actions as intrusive, perhaps even provocative judging from the "AFAIK smileys are not prohibited on Meta anyway" you wrote above.
- I'm just kindly asking you to stop. Stop editing pages related to frwiki and move on. Reduce your edit rate on our page, as it's hindering our routine anti-vandalism efforts. Failure to comply will result in a block for disruptive editing. XXBlackburnXx (talk) 17:57, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- As explained above, the French WP community is not the same as the French WM community (Wikimedia France is linked to the latter rather than the former) so my status on French WP is irrelevant (I'm not even sure editor rights on Meta are linked to statuson other wikis). "I see your actions as intrusive, perhaps even provocative judging from the "AFAIK smileys are not prohibited on Meta anyway" you wrote above": it isn't: I was giving a relevant reply to a sentence which was both factually wrong and irrelevant. Can you please reply to this: "Do you suggest we add to the page a hatnote saying it should only be edited by editors of the French Wikipedia who are not banned there? Or that it be moved to the French WP (as you think it addresses FRWP-specific topics)?" (we can write in a collapsible box, or on another page, if you find this one is too cluttered). Apokrif (talk) 18:17, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
- I strongly suggest to drop it, otherwise you'll likely receive a block for edit-warring and/or violating Meta:Civility. Johannnes89 (talk) 19:15, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

Modify global filter 123?
[edit]The new code for the poop vandalism filter is refactored, I added a 0 number if vandals get around the filter with "p00p", and the regex can also catch "poo poo". Here's the code:
page_namespace == 0 & !("confirmed" in user_groups) & edit_delta < 300 & ( poop := "\bP+[0O]{2,}(?:P+(?:E*(?:S+|R+S*|D+)|IN+['G]*|Y+)?|\s*P[0O]{2,})\b"; added_lines irlike poop & !(old_wikitext irlike poop) )

Event organizer for Ariba (DCW)
[edit]Hi, Kindly grant event organiser rights to my accounts so that I can efficiently manage Conversation Hour event pages for DCW as a part of my role. The immediate one that I need to work on is Event:DCW Conversation Hour November 2024, created by @Aafi (DCW). Thanks. Ariba (DCW) (talk) 10:40, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- On hold @Ariba (DCW) We usually do not grant this right to newly created account. Your linked account has 8 global edits. Could you please clarify if you also edit with another account? --M/ (talk) 10:43, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- @M7, kindly grant the right until 31 March 2025 (for now- per our current activity plan). Ariba reports to me and the use of the tool is limited to the event pages about DCW Conversation Hour. Ariba doesn't have any other account except @Durre Shehvaar. She is also an active member of the Wiki Club Jamia Core Organising Team,, but the use-case here is limited to her role at the Deoband Community Wikimedia as the Conversation Hour Lead. Due to several other responsibilities that are part of her role at DCW, having this right is necessary. Let me know if you have any other questions. signed, Aafi (DCW) (talk) 12:36, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Aafi (DCW), I've granted @Ariba (DCW) a temporary event organizer right per your request. Thanks, --M/ (talk) 14:19, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
