Hello Tommy Jantarek, welcome to the multilingual Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

This wiki is the original Wikisource wiki, originally hosting works in many languages. The larger collections have been spawned into separate projects, leaving this wiki to serve as a central collaboration point, and as an environment where works without a language subdomain can be started. Refer to our languages list to see which languages still reside on this wiki. You can find a list of the separate language projects on the main page or here and you may want to look at the our coordination page for limitations on placing certain works on the separate language projects.

Most questions and discussions about the community are in the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!

Słownik geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego i innych krajów słowiańskich

[edit]

Hi and welcome from me as well. Please are you sure that the article Index:PL Słownik geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego i innych krajów słowiańskich. T. 1.djvu does belong to this domain? The Polish language has its own one so that the Polish texts are not appropriate here. Regards -jkb- 20:58, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Same question, why not going on s:pl:Strona główna ? If see three solutions :
1. your category is wrong and the text in not polski (but it’s look like, maybe is it a variant or dialect ?) : you need to change the category.
2. your category is right so your on the wrong project : you need to change of project.
3. (the good one I guess) the text is in polski but not acceptable on the polish wikisource (s:pl:Słownik geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego). But I didn’t understand : all the author died and the text was published (1880) more more than 70 years ago, no ? IANAL and I’m not fluent with the polish copyright laws, so can you explain to me where is the problem ? Moreover, if the text is really PD-1923, it’s not really acceptable on Commons.

Why Słownik is here? Some editors died after 1940. Parts articles are copyrighted under Polish copyright law. After debate we decided to place Słownik in multilingual Wikisource.

Ok, fine for me. Thanx a lot for the explanations. Thanx for the links too but I don’t sepak polski :(
Just a last question : is there no concept of collective writer on Polska ? (we have such concept in the French law and this is very useful for this type of collectively written books, they become PD-70 after publication instead of after death of each writer). Cdlt, VIGNERON 07:37, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
We too have such concept. According to article 11 of Polish copyright law, publisher have the right to the title, and authors have economic rights pertaining to their specific parts which may exist independently. --Teukros 14:21, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
